Zoey

Zoey is 20 years old and has multiple diagnoses, including cerebral palsy (CP), arthrogryposis, and Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome. CP and arthrogryposis are conditions that impact movement and daily life. CP affects movement and muscle control due to early brain damage, resulting in issues with coordination, balance, and posture. Arthrogryposis causes stiff joints and weak muscles, restricting movement in the limbs. Both conditions present challenges to mobility and daily tasks. As an infant, Zoey’s family was told she may never sit or walk independently. However, she has defied the odds and can sit, walk, and talk on her own.

Zoey is your typical 20-year-old girl. She loves puppies, trying new foods, and Taylor Swift. She is also a thrill-seeker— for her adventure, the whole family went zip-lining through the treetops at Denali National Park. A big thank you to Denali Park Zipline for going above and beyond to make every part of their course safe and accessible for Zoey.

“Adventure for Ava gave Zoey an age-appropriate adventure without blinking an eye. Allowing families like ours to get out in the fresh Alaskan air and experience life without the limitations and judgement that can come with having a medically complex child, is truly beautiful.” - Connie, Zoey’s mom
